This is the top-level category and/or the root category. You can browse down through each subcategory and directly to the articles.
As you enter categories and articles make sure that you place at least one category tag in each one. Every category should be a subcategory of at least one category, so that every one can be reached by browsing the "tree" on a subject/topic basis. Every "article" (and many other pages) should be in at least one category and will often be appropriate in two or more.
