This user language template renders the appropriate page display in the sub-categories of a specific language which is spoken by the people who edit (or have previously edited) this WikiIndex wiki site. In a similar manner as template: UserLanguageCategory, it creates a standardised display, with uniform formatting. These specific categories are all part of category: Wiki people by language. This particular template has three (3) input requirements – immediately after {{UserLanguageSubcategory| . . .
: the first and third are compulsory; whilst the second default 'no' is acceptable, but the native translation is ideally preferred.
Input requirements
- 1st — the two- or three- letter ISO 639 language code, (plus any sub-language letters, eg: en-gb, pt-br, zh-hk, zh-tw, etc); see template:Language (and also template:Language names);
- 2nd — native translation of 'The people in this sub-category here on WikiIndex listed below speak (language) at a (level) level'; if
no
is entered, only the description in English will be displayed; - 3rd — the level of proficiency of said language: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or N (for 'native').
Usage
{{UserLanguageSubcategory|ISO 639 code|native language translation|level=?}}
One-language output
Three-input one-language output example:
{{UserLanguageSubcategory|de|no|level=3}}
- which displays at the top of the category page:
- The people in this sub-category here on WikiIndex listed below speak German at an advanced level.
Two-language output
Three-input two-language output example:
{{UserLanguageSubcategory|sv|'''[[:Category:Wiki people|Personerna]]''' i denna [[Special:Categories|underkategori]] här på WikiIndex listade nedan '''talar {{tag|Swedish speakers|svenska}}''' på '''modersmålsnivå'''|level=N}}
- which displays at the top of the category page:
- Personerna i denna underkategori här på WikiIndex listade nedan talar svenska på modersmålsnivå.
- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- The people in this sub-category here on WikiIndex listed below speak Swedish at a native level.
