On MediaWiki wiki sites, an IP editor can only perform the activities as described in the first 'all' section listed on their relevant Special:ListGroupRights page.

IP user would be the term in general for all users of a wiki site who did not log-in for any reason, and therefore are identified by their IP address only. In case of a wiki site or an article page that is configured as 'open edit', and the user does edit there, they become an IP editor, and their current IP address is recorded in the edit history with the individual edit instead of their username.
