data.gov.uk, also stylised Data.gov.uk, and also known as data.gov.uk wiki, was a small and short-lived wiki site created by the Government of the United Kingdom (UK) specifically for the development and launch of its 'data.gov.uk' website; a project to make available non-personal UK government data as open data on a centralised portal website. The wiki site was powered by the ubiquitous MediaWiki software (v1.15.5), and also used the Semantic MediaWiki plugin extension.[1]

From its former main page:

Welcome to the data.gov.uk wiki.

Here you can work together to share techniques, ideas, problems and tools, using data from the UK Government and other sources to help people understand and get more from their area, issues of interest, and the world we live in.

This wiki runs on the MediaWiki platform that powers Wikipedia and other sites – if you are unfamiliar with wikis in general, or this software in particular, the official guidance may help. Alternatively, you can use the discussion forum.

The easiest way to create a page is to follow the link on the page for the data package. Another way is to search for the page you are looking for, where one of the options is to create a new page.

This wiki site was closed and taken offline late 2011.
