A future link, or in MediaWiki (and many other, though not all wiki engines) – a red link, like this one, indicates that the page does not exist yet. It is a specific type of 'wikilink', and an gift that wiki gave to the web. The ability to link to something that is not there yet. An invitation to fill in the thought or idea of another person. A true collaborative gift.
