GrokOla is a product of Keyhole Labs. GrokOla supports software development team 'tribal knowledge' transfer and retention. It pairs an easy-to-use wiki platform and wireframing with a question and answer workflow that connects users with subject matter experts.

GrokOla was developed and is marketed by Keyhole Software and Keyhole Labs based in Leawood, Kansas, USA, as a knowledge transfer engine. The service launched in beta in 2014, and was released to the public in January of 2015.

GrokOla offers private wikis with advanced features for development teams. GrokOla attempts to differentiate itself by being a 'Q&A-driven wiki' that 'connects your team with subject matter experts for knowledge transfer', and knowledge retention to keep wiki entries up-to-date with new information. Education content is provided to include presentations and tutorials.

The March 2015 releases included a new feature addition known as MockOla, a 'rapid wireframing tool that allows users to easily create user interface mockups'.

GrokOla was created as a single-page application; using Node.js, Backbone.js, Require, Bootstrap on the client side, and Java, Sherpa enabled RESTful endpoints, Spring IOC, JPA / Hibernate on the server side.

GrokOla main features
  • Code-Sensitive Wiki – GrokOla provides a centralized wiki for the 'Tribal Knowledge' needed by your team. Code solutions are documented using simple markdown syntax and language-sensitive editors, and are easy to edit.
  • Wireframing UI Mockups (MockOla) – rapid wireframing tool that allows users to easily create user interface mockups for web, tablet, and mobile application using a drag-and-drop element editor.
  • Educational Resources – educational resources from the Keyhole team are updated daily, to include self-paced technology courses, language or tool primers (like JavaScript or Node.js), tricky programming concepts, and development presentations.
  • Ask Questions to Experts – users can ask detailed development questions to Keyhole subject matter experts and receive an answer in less than 24 hours.
