Psychology Wiki was a Fandom.com (formerly Wikia) wiki on Psychology (ancient Greek: psyche = "soul" or "mind", logos/-ology= "study of") — an academic and applied science/field involving the study of the human mind and human behavior. Psychology also refers to the application of such knowledge to various spheres of human activity, including problems of individuals' everyday life and the treatment of mental illness.

British psychologist Dr. Joe Kiff started the Psychology Wiki in January 2006. He aimed to make psychology resources easier to find.[1]

Projects[edit]

Besides typical informational articles, the Psychology Wiki had several special projects and article types:

  • Experience pages/posts share people's personal experiences with various psychological conditions. The goal was to help people understand the conditions better and offer personal perspectives.[2]
  • Service user pages and carer pages provided tailored advice for people with different conditions and their caregivers (respectively).[3][4]
  • A few mini courses covered topics like basic counseling skills.[5]

Closure[edit]

The Psychology Wiki was closed between April 10-11 2025. When user Luna Rose asked Fandom staff about it, they explained that Fandom no longer wanted to host medical wikis due to the risk of harm from misinformation.[6]
