Wikispecies is an open, free directory of species. The goal of the wiki is to become an extensive database for taxonomy as a tool for biologists.
As of March 2006, Wikispecies has versions in 32 different languages. However, unlike the multilingual conventions of other Wikimedia Foundation projects, all Wikispecies language versions are sub-pages of the primary 'species.wikipedia.org' domain.
