Water is a chemical substance whose molecule consists of 2 hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom designated by H20. Water exists on earth as a liquid at temperatures above 0 degrees Celsius, a solid at 0 degrees Celsius and below, and a gas at temperatures above 100 degrees Celsius.
