Template:TOCright On a wiki running on the MediaWiki software, check user is an account variable for people who have access to specific personal information on all whom have edited said wiki. Check user privileges enable the ability to see what IP addresses and what software browers other users have been editing from. Check user privileges tend to be reserved for the most trusted community members; typically an existing bureaucrats or system administrator – since check user information can be used in ways that could cause real-world consequences for others, as when it is exposed what an account's identity, employer, etc. are.
