Adoption is a process that allows Wikia staff to promote users to admins and/or bureaucrats on a wiki that is inactive on admins and/or bureaucrats. After users submit an adoption request on Community Central, Merrystar (Wendy) from Wikia Staff will review the request, and if users meet the minimum requirements, they will have adminship or bureaucratship.

Requirements

Here are all the requirements for adopting a wiki:

  • The admin/bureaucrat who last edited must have edited 60+ days ago.
  • The user who is adopting must hold an announcement that they're adopting the wiki on the wiki they're adopting.
  • The user who adopts the wiki must have created at least one new page.
  • The adopter must have been on the wiki for at least a week.
  • The user must be currently actively editing on a wiki.
  • The user must not have been blocked on another wiki before. If they are, the block(s) must be unfair and the user will have to explain the block(s) so Wendy can decide whether or not the block(s) were/was unfair.
  • The user must not be globally blocked or globally disabled at the time Wendy reviews the request.
  • The user must wait another month before submitting another adoption request for a wiki.
