Description
Jedipedia is a German-language Star Wars wiki based on MediaWiki. The Wiki is the second largest Star Wars wiki project after the English-language Wookieepedia. The wiki was founded on October 16th, 2005 and got more than 1,500 articles in its first year of existence. On Jedipedia's fifth day of anniversary, on October 16th, 2010, the wiki's community wrote the twenty-thousandth article. Till the current day there are more than 25,000 articles, and the wiki grows steadily.
The wiki's title in original language is Jedipedia – Entdecke das Star Wars Universum, which means Discover the Star Wars universe in English. The wiki's goal is to collect all information related to Star Wars and present them as complete and appealing as possible and – of course – in German; in doing so, all articles have to base on official sources, because the Jedipedia itself is not an official resource. It serves as a databank made by fans for fans. Therefore, everyone can join the community by editing the wiki, even if he does not create an account.
