(As of: 2016-10-21} Infogalactic is an online encyclopedia. It is a fork of Wikipedia, which means that its content was derived from a previous copy of Wikipedia but has diverged from it over time. Infogalactic intends to differ from Wikipedia by not possessing the bias and bureaucracy of Wikipedia.
The fork was not a dump of all 5 million English-language articles but rather started slowly with only some content being ported over to the new project. For instance, three weeks after the project launched, there were only 500 articles that had been copied from Wikipedia.
