Wikademia was a place for open education and research.
You were welcome to host projects there that are of true benefit to yourself and/or others.
The scope was wide. The wiki had the potential to appeal to a wide audience, and so encouraged others to share your ideas and your knowledge with others.
Wikademia's multi-language hub could be found at Wikademia.org. Once a language had enough content and warranted a wiki of its own, a new sub-domain would have been created and the language specific pages would be moved there. There are about 216 million native English speakers on the Internet and there are about 1.6 billion Internet humans.
Focuses included building membership, increasing participation, open design, open companies, and distributed computing.
Wikademia had had visitors from 90 countries.
After ten years of operating, its admin Eme announced on the main page, which is archived and dated April 12, 2018, that the wiki “may be taken down in the next year. You are encouraged to manually back up the content here and to republish it online. Just respect Creative Commons License of this content.” That main page is notably filled with spam links to drugstore websites. The wiki no longer exists.
