Encyc, founded by 'Auggie' in 2008, located at Encyc.org, from Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA, is a collaborative concise general interest encyclopedia, similar to (but massively smaller than) the English Wikipedia. There are less rules on Encyc, and they encourage simplicity in language and writing style. The site has much less content and most articles are very brief.
There was also the original PmWiki version of Encyc located at Encyc.org/pmwiki, but it could not be edited, and was closed mid 2014.
In 2019, this subsequent MediaWiki powered wiki site became a restricted wiki which did not allow editing or viewing of contents. However, as of May 2021, the MediaWiki wiki site returned to a fully functional site, with all pages viewable and editable.
