LA Wiki
The LA Wiki is a wiki based in Los Angeles, California. This city wiki is one of many new Web 2.0 technologies which rely on user-driven content generation. Though historically wikis about cities have had difficulty, the LA Wiki is the fastest-growing city wiki in the United States. The website hosts entries about the people, events, universities, bands, places and elements of Los Angeles which are unique. For example, it includes information about local events, advice for classes to take or not take at UCLA, where to find the cleanest bathrooms in town and how a poor student can best pack a to-go box from the local restaurant buffets.
The LA Wiki also runs on the MediaWiki framework, one of the first city wikis to employ the scalable technology behind Wikipedia.
