Category:Common Gateway Interface — in computing, Common Gateway Interface (commonly known by its registered acronym CGI) is an agreement between HTTP server implementers about how to integrate such gateway scripts and programs. CGI is typically used in conjunction with HTML forms to build database applications. Historically, CGI scripts were often written using the C programming language.
