template experiences

Hi smiddle, are you experianced with templates? Could you have a look on Template:Wiki/suggestion, I could not get it to work. My idea was to have entries in the appropriate Unknown Categories for parameters set to default or not set in the including page of an improved Wiki Template. I began working on wiki sizes and wanted to keep track with sizes missing. --Peu 16:33, 19 October 2006 (EDT)

My idea was to elaborate an improved future-save Wiki-Template-mechanism that makes pages visible that use older versions with less parameters. (The today-challenge is to bring a template-formulation to work that, for instance, collects Wikis with no WikiNode given in a new category, maybe Category:UnknownWikiNode). What about wiki_URL

It's crazy but ther seem to be WikiPages without URL. and,

Let's see... Category:UnknownWikiURL. But it only works if wiki_URL is not entered. If 'YourWikiHttp' or 'No' is entered, they'll not be added to the category. Hope there's a conclusion. – Smiddle / T·C·S·A 04:22, 21 October 2006 (EDT)

Oh, there is another mistake

You placed the unk-cats directly in the tamplate, thet causes the template page itself listed in unknowns. I did it now by including the "includeonly" tagging into the if-space and it works. If we could bring the standard wiki property lines into a generic fashion (maybe with your "If") then we can remove the "includeonly" section on top of the tamplate. --Peu 04:35, 21 October 2006 (EDT)

MyTimezone

idea about time zone names?

I named the first middle european (time zone plus dst-convention) but what are the names of others. I consulted Wikipedia and so on, but I cannot find names of (time zones + conventions), I find only active time names...I'm not sure...(for instance MEZ (CET) is used to name both time zone and time in winter) can you help me? --Peu 15:50, 23 October 2006 (EDT)

Maybe they can be named after some big city (e.g Moscow Time) ... or where the time zone is (e.g. Middle Australian Time). I can't help you any further than that, I think. – Smiddle / T·C·S·A 15:53, 23 October 2006 (EDT)

re: size categories

size cats were in former times 10, 100, 1000 and so on, I added the 2*10^e amd 5*10^e type size cats, for justice, but I think it would be not so helpful to add all n*10^e categories. see also Wikipedia:Benford's law --Peu 16:05, 23 October 2006 (EDT)

Category:Uncyclomedia Foundation

Hi Smiddle. I found category:Uncyclomedia Foundation where every Uncy was listed. Well, as you may know, Uncyclomedia Foundation is a one-man idea and project maded by Carlb and it's not affiliated with any other wikis than Uncyclopedia (I don't think it has anything to do with Uncyclopedia too, thought). Please watch for not adding other Uncyclopedia language projects to this category. It can by changed to category:Uncyclopedia family, category:Uncyclopedia or category:Uncyclopedia language versions or just leaved as it is, with one page in it. Wiki Engine

Hey, there were some issues with the alt wiki engine template. caused many if not all to default to Category:YourWikiEngine even though the wiki text was the right engine, in the html it was Category:YourWikiEngine.

I fixed it, a little, but broke other things. MarkDilley
