Category: Brickimedia — Brickimedia was an open project to create the largest LEGO fan network on the web. The former Brickimedia website, found at www.Brickimedia.org, was a wiki family, previously hosting a small number of wiki sites about LEGO. It started with an English-language Brickipedia wiki site (En.Brickimedia.org), along with a 'meta' wiki (Meta.Brickimedia.org), a 'customs' type of wiki (Customs.Brickimedia.org) for media uploads, a Lego Message Boards Wiki (LMBW.Brickimedia.org), and a LEGO Stories Wiki (Stories.Brickimedia.org). A Dutch-language Brickipedia wiki site subsequently joined.

The Brickimedia website (not the Brickipedia wiki sites) was last active end of 2016, following the Brickipedia wiki sites' move to ShoutWiki hosting.

Mission

The Brickimedia Association is a privately held organisation dedicated to maintaining and promoting a free encyclopedia on everything related to LEGO and LEGO products, as well as establishing a fan site and community around it.

History

The very first version of Brickipedia was created on 4 March 2005, hosted under a Wikia domain. At first, it was a very vague and unorganised landscape, but quickly started to attract contributors and LEGO fans of all ages from across the globe to add information on their favourite themes and talk about the hobby. Brickipedia's administration team underwent many changes in the eight years since its conception, and in January (2013) the current team decided that it would be best for the community to move off Wikia and onto its own domain for the very first time.

Joining with other popular LEGO wikis similarly moving, Brickipedia became Brickimedia, an open project to create a large LEGO fan network for all ages.
