Founded in 2006, ooBdoo (pronounced oo-bee-doo) was a wiki site information hub on the internet. It was a commercial site in as much as it is funded by the discrete advertising you see on every page, plus donations. It is totally independent and impartial and rigorously strives to ensure that it always remains so. In many ways it mirrors Wikipedia from which many of it's articles have been seeded, however it is not an encyclopedia in the normal sense for it only provides information on key topics. These key topics are defined by ooBdoo. It also goes further by allowing anyone to commercially promote themselves or their business as long as the information they supply is of benefit (in the eyes of ooBdoo) to the public. Straight forward advertising of a product or service is not allowed but articles of useful information with reference links to websites are. To guarantee that articles contain correct information it is requested that all articles are written/edited by those people who are regarded as experts in their particular field. Or if the article is about a living person then by the actual person the article is about!
ooBdoo is not associated with or endorsed by Wikipedia nor is Wikipedia associated with or endorsed by ooBdoo. ooBdoo, however, will endeavour to donate part of its advertising revenue to Wikipedia.
The site normally operates using MediaWiki software but during its 'Beta' time it is using static pages because of vandalism. This means that you can not post articles directly.
