Pirate Parties International (PPI) is a worldwide organization of Pirate Parties. It was originally founded in 2006 to coordinate the efforts of european Pirate Parties in running in elections for the European Parliament. Subsequently, it has grown to an international organization which brings together many Pirate Parties from all continents. The formal founding of the 'PPI' took place in April of 2010 at the international pirate conference in Brussels, Belgium. Its aim is to to help establish, support, promote, and to maintain communication and co-operation between, pirate parties around the world.
The Pirate Parties International is a non-profit organization, with its headquaters in Brussels, Belgium.
