The [[RationalWikiWikiWiki (Tisane iteration)|Tisane iteration]] of RationalWikiWikiWiki was launched on 1 September 2012. It was briefly shut down after an essay questioning the assumptions justifying the illegal status of "child-adult sex" was reported to the site's webhost resulting in an "adult content" terms of service violation notice that forced the site to either delete the essay or shut down. The RWWW site owner argued that the actions of those who influenced the takedown of the content (including those who helped create a legal environment in which webhosts need fear frivolous lawsuits, and a social and economic environment in which people are condemned and ostracized for espousing certain dissident views) contributed to censorship detrimental to the free exchange of ideas. He moved the site to NearlyFreeSpeech.NET, a more libertarian host shared by [[NewgonWiki]] and many similar sites pending a more permanent move to Dreamhost.
