On the 24th September 2010, Wikisimpsons had its fifth birthday.  In October 2010, a decision was made to split away from [[:Category:Wikia|Wikia]] and become hosted on [[ShoutWiki]].  This was due to a new skin released by Wikia and arguments with the staff.  Solar Dragon became the founder and steward of this new wiki. In June 2011, Wikisimpsons completed its move to independence. It now runs on {{tag|MediaWiki}} with a nice custom skin. It has since grown very quickly, now beating it's Wikia competitor by over 6,500 articles.
