I saw you added a note to [[WikiIndex:Naming Conventions]] about how category pages can't be renamed, which is true. | |||
However, since we have the Replace Text extension, there is a workaround which preserves the edit history. | |||
#Create category B (if it doesn't already exist) for all the pages you want to move from category A | |||
#Go to the Special:ReplaceText page and the "Original text" box should have something like <nowiki>[[Category:A]] and the "Replacement text" box should have [[Category:B]]</nowiki> | |||
#Go down to the optional filters to the "Replace only in category:" box, add in the name of Category A. | |||
#Replace text in page contents should be checked | |||
#Click continue, verify the changes, then execute the replace text script. | |||
