Please note, we do not delete defunct, obsolete, dormant or abandoned [[wiki]] entries here on WikiIndex – we keep them all as a matter of posterity. We simply [[Special:Categories|recategorise]] them into one of the other sub-categories of [[:category:Wiki Status]]. The preferred method is to change the <tt>|status = </tt> field of the [[Template:Wiki|wiki infobox template]] to match the name of the relevant sub-category – some appropriate examples being: [[:category:Dead]], [[:category:Dormant]], [[:category:GoalAbandoned]] or [[:category:Archived]] (the latter being specifically for dead wikis which have a number of its pages saved by the InternetArchive WaybackMachine at [[Archive.org]]). Historically, we used to change them by substituting the main Wiki infobox template into [[template:Inactive]] – we just changed the <code>Wiki</code> at the top of the template to <code>Inactive</code>.
