The '''Green Light Wiki''' (also stylised '''The Green Light Wiki''') was created in {{tag|Python}} by [[Ben Kovitz]][http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?BenKovitz][https://web.archive.org/web/20020423072058/http://Clublet.com/c/c/why?BenKovitz] (the man who has suggested the [[wiki]] platform to the [[:Category:Wikipedia|Wikipedia]] founders).  Green Light Wiki was an extremely basic, primitive {{tag|former wiki engine}}; and whilst it supported basic [[:Category:Wiki syntax|wiki markup]] for [[edit]]ing, it did not have any 'preview' function.  Furthermore, it had no [[revert]] function to 'undo' [[vandal]]ism or [[spam]] (although you could manually select a previous 'version' from the [[edit history]], copy and paste the content, and save that).  [[Recent changes]] were not listed by year, and probably most crucially, it had no form of [[access control]].  It also had no facility for monitoring [[:Category:Statistics|statistics]] for page count and views.

One notable difference, and standout feature, was the colour of its internal links, aka '[[WikiIndex:Wiki Links|wikilinks]]'.  Unlike other wiki engines which use blue, the Green Light Wiki used '''<big><font color=darkgreen>green</font></big>''' for its active [[wikilink]]s, although it still used '''<font color=darkred>red</font>''' for [[red link|non-existent internal links]].
