Users can not change anything that they feel is wrong of factually incorrect, or add anything that they know or feel can improve the site; however, some sites ''may'' be facilitate direct contact to the SysOps via e-mail offering suggestions or alterations to existing articles.

Many people, including [[:Category:Active contributors to this wiki|folks]] here at [[WikiIndex]] think these websites are not true wiki. In fact, [[SwitchWiki]] (the predecessor to WikiIndex) only listed [[:Category:OpenEdit|OpenEdit]] wiki. However, there may be very valid reasons why a wiki is set to ReadOnly - one such scenario may be a wiki which was created as an editable wiki for a forthcoming [[:Category:Conference|conference]], and then 'locked' to ReadOnly following the conclusion of said conference.
