Wikispaces wikis were powered by its own {{tag|CustomEngine|custom-built}} proprietary {{tag|Wiki Engine|wiki engine}} software, with some interesting features.  Wikispaces does <u>not</u> support [[CamelCase]], but does support all other conventional wikilink creation functions and [[:Category:Wiki syntax|syntax]].  Free 'spaces' are 'supported' by {{tag|GoogleAds}}, whereas paid-for spaces don't.  All Wikispaces supported the {{tag|OpenID}} log-in.
