This {{tag|Housekeeping templates|housekeeping template}} is used on [[Special:Categories|category]] pages which are the 'top-tier' category for a specific [[:Category:Wiki Topic|topic or subject]].  Its purpose is to guide and inform [[User|readers]] and [[editor]]s to correctly categorise articles.

Simply highlight <code>{{Template|Parent category}}</code>, select copy (<tt>Ctrl - c</tt> on your keyboard), and paste (<tt>Ctrl - v</tt>) it into the [[edit box]] of the 'parent' or 'mother' category, and save your edit.
