The Backrooms are an alternate dimension outside of reality, consisted of liminal spaces and other smaller dimensions, called levels. The Backrooms have an immeasurable and undocumented amount of levels, each containing various dangers, which are all written about in the Backrooms Wikidot; A wiki-based collaborative writing project. Within the fictional universe, humanity tries adapting to this strange, yet familiar dimension.


If you're not careful and no-clip out of reality in wrong areas, you'll end up in the Backrooms, where it's nothing but the stink of moist carpet, the madness of mono-yellow, and endless background noise of fluorescent lights at maximum hum-buzz, and approximately six hundred million square miles of randomly segmented empty rooms to be trapped in. God save you if you hear something wandering around nearby, because it sure as hell has heard you…
The Backrooms Wikidot appeals to a vast array of genres including traditional liminal horror, urban fantasy, high fantasy, and science fiction. The majority of works on the Backrooms Wikidot consist of pages that utilize levels, entities, objects, and phenomenon pages as a medium to explore a concept or storyline.
