The wiki was started on the 24th September 2005 by Postbagboy who didn't make a single main space edit and left. Since then, the wiki has gone through several transformations, getting a new skin in the beginning of 2010 and a new team of admins.
 
On the 24th September 2010, Wikisimpsons had its fifth birthday.
 
In October 2010, a decision was made to split away from Wikia and become hosted on [[ShoutWiki]]. This was due to a new skin released by Wikia and arguments with the staff. Solar Dragon became the founder and steward of this new wiki.
 
In June 2011, Wikisimpsons completed its move to independence.
