For the Curse-owned American video games wiki farm founded in 2005, see: category: Gamepedia.com.

Gamepedia original logo

GamePedia, originally stylised as Gamepedia, and formerly known as GamerWiki, was a free, online, video game wiki site encyclopedia from Italy.

Originally found at Gamepedia.info URL, it subsequently moved to the 'dot org' top-level domain (TLD), i.e., GamePedia.org; and was available in two separate languages: English; at GamePedia.org (en), and Italian; at GamePedia.org (it).

From an early 'About' page:

Gamepedia is a free content encyclopedia being written collaboratively by contributors from around the world. The site is a wiki, which means that anyone can edit articles, simply by clicking on the edit this page link that appears at the top of each page.

Gamepedia is created by Francesco Lia as a simple folder on GameOver.it site in 2002. Now is online and public for everyone. Keep out from imitations.

Gamepedia was started on September 1, 2004 by founders Francesco Lia, and a few enthusiastic Italian-language collaborators.

All text in Gamepedia, and most images and other content, is covered by the GNU Free Documentation License 1.2 (GFDL v1.2). Contributions remain the property of their creators, while the GFDL license ensures the content will remain freely distributable and reproducible (see the copyright notice and the content disclaimer for more information).

Thanks to all people who contribute everyday to create the most comprehensive Games Encyclopedia on World Wide Web.

Similar-named wiki host

There is another WikiIndex category of a video games wiki farm under a similar name, called Gamepedia.com; originally owned by Curse, Inc. from the USA. That entire Gamepedia.com wiki farm was subsequently acquired by Wikia, Inc. on 12 December 2018; all Gamepedia.com wiki sites were subsumed into Wikia, becoming a sub-brand of Fandom by Wikia, and the Gamepedia.com domain redirects – originally to Wikia.com, now Fandom.com.

After the GamePedia.org domain from Italy went offline, its contents also became part of the Gamepedia.com site of Fandom.
