Main topic: Ratchet & Clank

Ratchetpedia is an independent Wiki focusing on the Ratchet & Clank video game series, developed by Insomniac Games (with the exeption of two games that were instead developed by High Impact Games). The site was founded by Sove and UxieLover1994 on March 31, 2012. It is still a newborn wiki, and has yet to get it's own logo and banner, but it's mainpage is currently in the making. It's current goal is to get 1,000 articles "completed", as well as "perfect" it's templates and get it's own skin. It aims to become the best English source of Ratchet & Clank infomation in the world.

The idea for Ratchetpedia came to UxieLover around October 2011 while she was working at the now-defunct Spyropedia, and after several months, the site finally came to existance with the help of Sove, a friend of Uxie and a high member of SEIWA. Today, Uxie works hard with Ratchetpedia, but due to being overshadowed by the prideful Wikia counterpant, very few people actually visit the site, and rarely does anyone even give out useful data of the series; as the leading admins of both wikis do not get along well, because of their different views (with Ratchetpedia following NIWA and the Ratchet Wiki following Wikia), the two sites share a bitter rival.

Differences in styles:

  • Ratchetpedia uses present tence, like most independent wikis. The Ratchet Wikia uses past tence, like most Sci-Fi wikias
  • Ratchetpedia uses it's own templates, with matirials borrowed from several NIWA and SEIWA wikis. The Ratchet Wikia uses Wikia's defult templates
  • Ratchetpedia's articles are strictly restricted to only those that need it. The Ratchet Wikia creates articles for even the most minor things (such as grass)
  • Voice actors have their own articles at the Ratchet Wikia. For Ratchetpedia, they instead link to Wikipedia (or Bulbapedia) for voice actors.
  • Character articles use their real names at the Ratchet Wiki (with the only exeption being XJ-0461, aka, Clank). Ratchetpedia instead goes by the name they are best known as.
  • Ratchetpedia has a strict spoiler policy, and it's admins will always check on pages to insure that it does not spoil much of the series. Ratchet Wikia's articles tend to actually spoil the games in their articles. Some wikis criticized their "poorly-written" articles as a result.
  • Due to all this, SCIWA ranks Ratchetpedia as "fair"; while the Ratchet Wiki is ranked as "unfair"

Ratchetpedia tends to use a style similar to that of both Spyropedia and the Kingdom Hearts Wiki, but with it's own added content. It wishes to be unique, with it's own unique templates and skin. The site is a strong follower of the IWAs, and wishes to be a part of an IWA one day. The site will be very happy to affiliate with any wiki that's independent, but will always turn down a site that's part of a wikifarm (due to their ongoing feud with the Ratchet Wiki).

According to UxieLover, Ratchetpedia is to help start the fourth IWA group following NIWA, SEIWA and SIWA; this one for Sony Computer Entertainment, currently known as SCIWA. (UxieLover's article on SCIWA on Ratchetpedia) Ratchetpedia also is thinking of doing a partnership with Spyropedia, currently known as the Insomniac Alliance (IA), as both series were originally developed by Insomniac Games.
