WikiIndex is a wiki of wiki, wiki people and wiki ideas. We are striving to help build community between people who use wiki by being a place to helping new wiki folk find wiki communities they are interested in. We strive to help experienced wiki folk think about larger issues in wikidom (How many wiki are being started and dropped? Do you know of a wiki that has a GreatFeature? How can the whole wiki community deal with spam? etc.). We use StructuredData here at WikiIndex and although we run a MediaWiki we have some differences from Wikipedia.

Wikimania - August 4-6th, 2006 Wikimania 2006 will be the second annual meeting for Wikipedians and anyone else interested in learning more about Wikipedia and/or wiki technologies in general. Last year, we met in a very nice youth hostile in Frankfurt Germany and people from all over the world met, often for the first time. Most people had an area of Wikipedia that they specialized in and the common thread was the enormous amount of time everyone devoted to making the site the success it is today. This year, the meeting will be in Cambridge, Mass at the Harvard Law School campus. (more...)

WikiSym - August 24-26th, 2006 The Second International Wiki Symposium, WikiSym2006 is a conference focused entirely on wikis research and practice. Last year it was held in San Diego and this year it will be in Denmark! It will be a great place to discuss ideas that really push the wiki envelope and because there will be a significant open-space component, you can be sure to have a chance to discuss topics that are important to you.
