Chat is a feature used by Wikia and Brickimedia as an alternative to Internet Relay Chat (IRC).

Chat-specific terms

• Backseating — (a.k.a. minimodding) - used to describe acting like a chat moderator without mod rights
• Chat moderator — (a.k.a. mod or CM) - a user with the ability to kick or ban misbehaving users
• Chat jumper — a user who hops around random wiki chats
