Category:Users who are globally blocked from Wikia
What is the use of this cat? Why should those people be noted here?Manorainjan (talk) 21:35, 3 August 2014 (UTC)
- Maybe it is useful to highlight another angle of heavy-handed tactics Wikia use when their not-so-valued editors dissent at some of their less than popular policy changes??? Either way, I think it could serve a purpose. Sean, aka Hoof Hearted • Admin / 'Crat • talk2HH 16:26, 4 August 2014 (UTC)
- Per Hoof. It is useful in noting Wikia is a bit stricter than other wiki farms. Sweetie Belle (talk) 18:40, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
- And what purpose does it serve to 'inform' the publich about: "Charitwo is a former VSTF who is regarded by many as one of the biggest douchebags on the Internet." Manorainjan (talk) 19:35, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
- It's a wiki. If you don't like it, fix it. Sweetie Belle (talk) 19:39, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, it's a wiki. But what is a wiki? Is it a mere collection of random data? A Gordian knot of text strings? Does it serve a purpose? Is it also a community? Or is it a bunch of people who try to find out who wins the next edit war? However, the fact that this is a wiki can be accepted as generally known and is as such not bringing any discussion further. therefore, by saying so, You are not making a point but avoiding to make a point. And I'm much too lazy in order to not like things and clean up after people who continue to create things that are called dirt in my world. I prefer to find out, where the urge to spit around stems from.
- One does not need any reason whatsoever in order to create a wiki entry for any wiki not yet mentioned here. And there one can edit all kind of more or less informative data in it, fill forms and templates. We may say a wiki is dead or dormant or so, but we do not call it shitty or useless. We don't argue that nobody ever needed to have such a wiki. We do not insult wikis here. Why would we start insulting people now? There are some entries about more or less renowned wiki people who may or not may have an account here. There You find descriptions of their work and interest. But You don't find insulting remarks about their alleged image in the public. Yes, it is a wiki, not the yellow press. We do not start a war or hunt here, except against those accounts which where created here in order to spam or harass this very wiki. The petty flame- and edit-wars on other wikis are of no concern for us here. This is no court or any upstream instance of a court. The bell You are ringing here is not sweet in any way. So, what do You expect to come out from this? What is Your purpose for bringing the dirt in here? Why would I clean up after You, potentially calling for an edit war? We got some pretty dusty places here, like the Category:Inactive. I would appreciate if You help cleaning the dirt. Manorainjan (talk) 20:24, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
- I see your point. Sorry. Sweetie Belle (talk) 20:35, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
Really? Looks like I will not have to clean up after You regarding pages of questionable content about Wikia people. So far the objective part by now. But You missed the point, that I asked You questions regarding Your motivation and that You did not answer any of them. I'm still standing in the dark regarding Your motivation, the subjective part. I find that more interesting and important than the objective part. I'm not so much a friend of does and dont's as it may look like. You can say I criticised Your strategy or actually the results of Your strategy because the later is till not known to me and even less Your motivation. I do not intent to criticise Your motivation if I knew it. I would rather like to help find productive ways to fulfill it. I'm a NVC-fan Manorainjan (talk) 21:03, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
Hi, I know you've been making good progress in getting your cutie mark in wiki editing, but as stated above it's not good to create unsourced attack pages. We don't want to turn into Gabby Gums. Happy crusading and editing! Elassint 6 August 2014
- Yay! :3 Sweetie Belle (talk) 20:44, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
Maybe some of us are getting a little bit over-cautions! I personally do not find anything wrong with the Category:Users who are globally blocked from Wikia being used as a listing for those who are indeed globally blocked from Wikia, and I'll say again, I think it has a purpose and I think it should stay. However, we don't really like any unsourced mud-raking; so please ensure that we stick to just the bare fact of their block and, if can be proven by way of 'citations' to live or archived links of Wikia warnings/discussions/slanging matches, then we can add the bare minimum additional materiel to describe the reason(s) behind said block.
All that being said, your effort and energy here on WikiIndex is awesome, so please stick around and let the WikiIndex community benefit from your input. Thanks and best regards. Sean, aka Hoof Hearted • Admin / 'Crat • talk2HH 13:44, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
Category:Wiki People by Language
While You obviously like to create and work with Wiki-people pages You may pay some attention to what their mother tongue is. I dropped one template at Your page; check it out! Manorainjan (talk) 23:54, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks! Sweetie Belle (talk) 00:06, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
Summary
Next thing You could improve on is to fill the "Summary:" field under Your edits with short remarks explaining what Your edit was about.
Example: You ar editing a page of a Wiki-Person and are adding a link to one of the Wikis that person is or was active in. then You fill in the Summary like: "Was member of xyz-Wiki".
This remarks show in the history of the page and in the list of Recent changes. Manorainjan (talk) 00:25, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
- Alright. Sweetie Belle (talk) 00:35, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
- I see You got it. Now You have the run of the house; In my part of the world It's time to go to bed ;-)Manorainjan (talk) 00:46, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
- You seem to have occasionally forgotten again :ppppp Sean, aka Hoof Hearted • Admin / 'Crat • talk2HH 22:30, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
internal links
Please use internal links to our pages about the Wiki whenever possible, means when we got an entry about that Wiki. I demonstrated that on the page of Violet (Ponyo Fan) for her first Wiki.Manorainjan (talk) 00:41, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
- Oki-doki-loki :) @Both messages Sweetie Belle (talk) 00:47, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

The core of what we do
We create entries for all kinds of Wikis :-) You know about a Bob (JellyfishJam38) and in which Wikis he holds certain posts. I assume that You also know the URLs of those Wikis. Are You ready to create entrys for them? WikiIndex:Add a Wiki or Template:Wiki boilerplate. Manorainjan (talk) 11:40, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, I was planning to add the wikis as soon as I had time. Sweetie Belle (talk) 15:01, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
- Great :-) I see You got a plan. What about a new category 'Fanon'? I assume that would get more than 5 members. To what basic category would that belong? Manorainjan (talk) 15:17, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
- Category:Entertainment, probably. Sweetie Belle (talk) 15:21, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
- I see, You are an expert on something I did not know it exists until recently ;-)✓ Done
Category:Wiki People Images
Please check Category:Wiki People Images
- Avatars
- Caricatures
- Photographs
to make sure I did not call an Avatar what should be a Photo of the user ;-)
Not the files in the upper cat. I will sort them down later. Only the files in the 3 sub cats You uploaded. Manorainjan (talk) 23:56, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
- I am aware of this and have already started categorizing some of my images. Sweetie Belle (talk) 23:58, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
- Oops, to mark Tails as Photo was a silly mistake of me. Regarding what appears to be Carl Winslow I was unsure if Avatar or Photo, because I don't know this actor(?). Therefore I asked You to check. It is of little use to give the names of the pictures in the summary-field only. You can write any explanatory text in the same field as the mark for the category.
I'm away now ... Manorainjan (talk) 00:12, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
- Carl Winslow is a character from Family Matters. As for your advice, I'll keep that in mind. ;) Sweetie Belle (talk) 00:14, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
IP-Users
I do not think that it makes sense to welcome IP-Users User talk:99.108.163.112Manorainjan (talk) 00:26, 11 August 2014 (UTC)
When I say: "What were you thinking?" then I mean it. I would like to know Your thoughts. Manorainjan (talk) 23:15, 11 August 2014 (UTC)

Death Threats and Libel
Death threats are criminal in my jurisdiction, and many others. This is not the right forum to accuse someone of making them. WikiIndex is meant to be an index of wikis, not a place to air grievances. Please consider this before making further potentially libelous edits. Thank you, MarvelZuvembie (talk) 00:16, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
- Alright. Sweetie Belle (talk) 00:12, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
Template:User infobox
I tried Your creation Infobox 2 first, thinking it was an advanced version but did not get it to work properly. Please check it out how I did on Phoenix. The pages of the templates could use some more explanation etc. like Template:Wiki boilerplate Manorainjan (talk) 10:05, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
Wikia Stars
I don't suppose you have a URL on Wikia detailing their Wikia Stars? Lovin your input here! Sean, aka Hoof Hearted • Admin / 'Crat • talk2HH 22:30, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
- Indeed I do. ;) Sweetie Belle (talk) 00:08, 17 August 2014 (UTC)
Sources and consent
I often do plausibility check with whatever comes before my eyes or ears. No need to take that personally ;-) I'm curious to know where You get all that WikiPeople data from?
- Do You ask these people?
- Do they know that they get a page here?
- if so, what is usually the feedback?
- Do You ask them to develop or update their pages?
- Did You notice our little discussion here about http://wikiindex.org/WikiIndex_talk:Community_portal#Informing_the_entries? --Manorainjan (talk) 21:58, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
- I usually ask them or am friends with them (as you can tell by my user page, I've had experience on quite a few wikis over the years :p
- Usually, yes.
- They either chuckle about it or ask me to fix certain errors I make. Sometimes someone else in the channel/on the thread will notice and ask when they're going to get a page. xD
- -
- I noticed it. I'll post my 2 cents in there when I get a chance. Sweetie Belle (talk) 02:16, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
I should have made a numbered list ;-) Next time!
Oh, why next time, It's a Wiki! ...
Regarding Ifindyourlackoffaithdisturbing: When on Wikipedia someone quotes a source of her/his edit, they do not write in the summary-field: "I got the book, so I know" but they write the title of the book in quote format in the article which causes an annotation to appear at the bottom of the page. That way everybody who reads that article, after whatsoever many edits, will know about the source. If possible people link to the source when available online.
- In how far a link to somebody's user page is an evidence for his trolling? If he himself admitted it in verbal, it is not actually quotable unless You take the position of an journalist and write in his article: "In my yesterdays interview he admitted trolling in the Disney Wiki." Sarah AKA [Sweetie Belle|Sweetie]. But better You link to text he wrote.Manorainjan (talk) 22:31, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
