- KmWiki is a collaborative persistent 'conversation' on all matters related to knowledge management.[1]
KmWiki is more than just social writing, easy and intuitive web publishing and the ability to do hypertext. There is the potential to anneal joint meaning, synthesize something greater than the direct combination of individual parts, there is the potential for building a community ethos around direct collaboration at the artifact level. Michael Schrage says "The best shared spaces are an invitation to innovation..the prototype or models are driving our processes and learning.. if you do not have a shared space you are not collaborating, ...it's creating opportunity for others to add value!"
Hosted on the Wikispaces wiki farm, KmWiki was their second re-incarnation. An earlier attempt from 1997 to 2005 was halted due to spam. The ultimate aim was to prepare Wikipedia entries on key KM concepts, develop topic and concept maps of this exciting domain.
Founded in 2005, KmWiki was closed on 31 July 2018, at the same time as all free and classroom wiki sites on the Wikispaces wiki farm were permanently shut down.
