Wiki Base was the second wiki forum to power Ward Cunningham's wiki site WikiWikiWeb, since around 1995 or 1996. The Wiki Base wiki engine could be automatically downloaded from Wiki Base's HyperPerl generator, but the generator had some problems functioning properly, so Cunningham removed the HyperPerl generator from public access. Wiki Base can still be constructed by copying the straight Perl source code that is on Wiki Base's pages.
