Several options were considered, including moving to another third-party host such as Miraheze; but ultimately, it was decided to go to fully independent hosting. On 7 April 2022, the Discord, then called 'Project Shmodex', was created. On 8 April 2022, the Independent Fallout Wiki was officially founded by Kid Aces and Eckserah.
