As of April 2019, the entire [[wiki farm]] is down, only displaying an 'Internal Server Error' and a fatal 500 error when attempting to access the Meta-Wiki or any other wiki hosted by the wiki farm. Prior to the farm going down, it appeared that at least a portion of the backend code had been compromised, with the "Hosted by Referata" advertizement/logo link at the bottom-right of all pages replaced by an image that reads "Hacked by Delicious".
The entire Referata wiki farm was hacked in 2019 and was never recovered. As a result, this main site and just about every other Referata wiki are no longer accessible. A few backups of the largest wikis reportedly do exist, but these are sparse.
 
The farm today loads slowly, which means that there is possibly a DoS/DDoS attack which targets Referata.
 
As of September of 2019, accounts cannot be created on any Referata wiki. Thus users cannot create new wikis.
 
As of September of 2020, the database has crashed, and has yet to be recovered.
