Fandom Wiki – dieses Wiki gibt eine Übersicht über alle Fandoms aus den Bereichen Science Fiction und Fantasy. Weiterhin findet man hier grundlegende Infos über alle möglichen Serien und Filme.
- Was ist das Fandom
Als Fandom (gelegentlich auch Fantum) wird die Gesamtheit der Fans eines bestimmten Phänomens, zum Beispiel eines bestimmten Autors, eines Films oder eines Genres bezeichnet. Der Begriff wird besonders oft speziell für die Fangemeinden bestimmter Werke aus dem Fantasy- oder Science Fiction-Bereich verwendet.
Innerhalb des Fandoms werden die zugrundeliegenden Werke häufig phantasievoll weiterentwickelt. Oft ranken sich zahlreiche zusätzliche Werke um das eigentliche Hauptwerk herum und werden innerhalb des Fandoms ausgetauscht. Diese Fan-Fiction genannten Nebenwerke können Kurzgeschichten sein, können aber auch einen Umfang annehmen, der das Hauptwerk erreicht oder sogar übertrifft. Wenn es sich bei den Nebenwerken um Bilder handelt spricht man von Fan-Art. Daneben gibt es auch noch Fans die nach dem Vorbild ihrer Stars eigene Kostüme schneidern. Weiterhin gibt es auch musikalische Fans, die, inspiriert durch ihre Lieblingsserie/film eigene Lieder (Filk), komponieren, andere lassen ihrer Kreativität in Fanfilmen freien Lauf oder in der Erstellung von Probs.
Shipper sind Fans, die sich speziell bei den Liebesbeziehungen des Hauptwerks emotional engagieren. Organisierte, größere Versammlungen von Fans werden als Convention bezeichnet.

- What is the fandom?
Fandom (occasionally also Fantum) is the totality of fans of a certain phenomenon, for example a certain author, a film, or a genre. The term is particularly often used specifically for the fan bases of certain works from the fantasy or science fiction area.
The underlying works within the fandom are often imaginatively developed further. There are often numerous additional works around the actual main work and are exchanged within the fandom. These side works called fan fiction can be short stories, but can also take on a scope that reaches or even exceeds the main work. If the ancillary works are pictures, we speak of fan art. There are also fans who tailor their own costumes based on their stars. There are also musical fans who, inspired by their favourite series / film, compose their own songs (Filk), others let their creativity run wild in fan films or in the creation of probes.
Shippers are fans who are particularly emotionally involved in the love affair of the main work. Organised, larger gatherings of fans are called a convention.
