There are 122 articles in this category.
Found this in Category:Vibrant today, we celebrate because we notice (meaning I don't know how long we have had 122!) MarkDilley
Better to have a proper description[edit]
The text ("Welcome...!") is fine for the main page but not repeated on a page that's meant to be describing the wiki. robinp 18:59, 14 Feb 2006 (EST)
i.e. we shouldn't use the Wiki_List template to describe the WikiIndex on the main page? --Raymond King | talk 19:20, 14 Feb 2006 (EST)
Use real names[edit]
Is Use Real Names a policy here? I want to know how to sign up. 158.135.241.100 aka SeanFennel aka ACupOfCoffee 02:36, 1 Mar 2006 (EST)
- Never mind. I figure I better not screw with precedent. I have absolutely no idea what specifying my real name to MediaWiki does, if anything, and signing with one name but showing up in recent changes with another would just get real confusing real quick. Real name it is. Sean Fennel 11:11, 1 Mar 2006 (EST)
Thanks Sean! There is no official policy at this wiki, yet. But I am pushing for Proposal:RealNames. :-) Best, MarkDilley | talk
The CommunityWiki: Use Real Names may be a good place for discussing why some wiki emphasize use real names, but others don't. — preceding unsigned comment added by DavidCary (talk • contribs) – 01:46, 11 May 2006 (UTC).
Size[edit]
I recommend not having the size category on the main page until someone actually impliments the idea. And that seems a long way off. The guy that created the procedure hasn't been heard from since. TedErnst | talk 02:51, 9 Apr 2006 (EDT)
Why not make WikiIndex use multilingual functions like Wikipedia?[edit]
Why can't this wiki truly use the multilingual function of MediaWiki? That is, why not use the [[Fr:WikiIndex]] syntax to send all that French stuff to French pages? It's not rocket science (it can't be, because I'm setting up a trilingual wiki,
with only minor headaches. — preceding unsigned comment added by 217.136.7.181 (talk) – 22:12, 13 May 2006 (UTC).
- Well, most important pages at this wiki are the ones that describe other wikis. There's no sense in duplicating all those pages, is there? They'll be the same in all the languages, yes? The meta pages are more problematic. Could you say more about how this would work? TedErnst | talk 18:29, 13 May 2006 (EDT)
- The language of the site is an ongoing discussion. Thank you for the addition of another way to do it. If we did language wiki seperation like that, then there might be a complete sepeartion of languages, e.g. why have Chinese wiki in the English WikiIndex wiki... interesting idea. Else we could populate each language wiki with each wiki - regardless of language and then it becomes a translation project for that community....hmmm. MarkDilley
- We now have a Deutsch WikiIndex http://De.WikiIndex.org/ in the German language. Yay! --DavidCary 14:56, 3 February 2009 (EST)
All non-English WikiIndex versions, ie, De.WikiIndex.org - are now defunct. Sean, aka Hoof Hearted • Admin • talk2HH 02:10, 15 March 2013 (PDT)

Way to go Mark, too! TedErnst | talk 01:33, 16 May 2006 (EDT)
- Oh, has it changed? Maybe I should take more notice. Anyway, it's great! Robin Patterson 02:07, 16 May 2006 (EDT)
